My rescue hen is only just growing her feathers back so looks a bit scruffy but is well in herself eating well and a good weight.
But I am worried about her breathing

Does she have an enlarged lower belly down between her legs compared to others? You can see the air filling the air passages around her beak. It is hard to know if she has a physical condition, or a respiratory disease. Mold can cause aspergillosis, a fungal respiratory infection, and it can spread through the air sacs. It could be another type of respiratory disease, viral or bacterial, or she could have a heart problem. If her belly is bloated, she might have ascites (water belly) which can cause labored breathing. I would look inside her beak and throat for any mucus or yellow gunk that might cause an obstruction. Molt is a stressful time when sickness may show up.

Thankyou eggcessive for taking the time to get back to me.
I gave her a real pamper session this morning and looked in her mouth and all round her beak and couldn't find anything obviously wrong, I also checked her belly as I had been reading about squishiness between the legs, again all seemed OK.
I am wondering like you say whether it is a physical condition, or a respiratory disease ?
Our local Vet is great with dogs and cats, not so good with hens so other than try her on anti-inflammatories or anti-biotics I'm not sure what to do??
