Hen lad soft eggs hanging from her butt

So this evening I was checking out my hens when I noticed this ling white blood swinging from her vent. She was so flighty it was had to get a hold of her. Another hen near by picked it off of her before I could. Upon closer inspection it looked like a soft shelled egg that was broken open. It was in the shape of a long teardrop. It was about 3 inches long. I never managed to pick her up but I did notice a small amount of what looked like egg whites near the shell another chicken was trying to eat it. Should I be worried or is that just something to keep an eye out. She is 7 months old. I live in NC and this last 2 weeks have been in the 100's which is not typical of NC during this time of year so I did notice they were stressed. I did give them ice water and ice treat when I was home.

She's a "young" layer so it happens occasionally. What are you feeding? Are they getting Oyster Shells?

The get the nutrena layer crumbes from TSC and they do have oyster shells

Lacking a small glitch in your pullets egg plant what you are seeing may be the result of a adolescent disease that your pullet had that damaged her laying apparatus.
