hen laid half an egg

Has anyone had their hen lay half an egg. If i wouldn't have been there the others would have ate it. other half fell out while she was eating. and the egg was super tiny also. bout ping pong ball size and she is a polish hen.

when a hen first starts laying, the eggs may be kinda weird - very small eggs, shelless eggs, etc. It takes awhile to get the system working right.

She should have been laying for quite some time now. all my hens are about a year and half old. maybe that was her first egg though. not sure what eggs come from what hens except thar one
