Hen laying eggs w/o shells

Our 2-3 year old leghorn hen is laying shell-less eggs almost every day, this has been going on quite a while and our vet has given us calcium to give her twice daily by syringe. She's been taking the calcium for about a week now and there's been no improvement so far. Any suggestions as to what the problem is and anything else we can try besides the calcium??
