Hen laying softshell eggs - meat okay to eat?

We have a hen that has only ever laid soft shell eggs (new layer).
I feed an all-flock feed and oyster shell is always available, I have seen her eat it. I may try giving her an extra calcium supplement, but if I do end up dispatching her, is there any reason the meat would be unsafe to consume? I’m assuming it’s just a calcium deficiency causing the soft shell eggs?

If there is something other than bad genetics going on, its should be reasonably obvious when you open her up. Pay particular attention to the liver.
