hen lays but wont sing the egg song

Hi a month ago I got a 2 hens that layed only 4 eggs but some time I find egg shell on the floor I think there eating them ok so my problem is that I never heard the sing the egg song I just find them there by surprise they have a rooster to they are not free ranged a 4x6 run 4x4 coop god for there number pls help

The run is a good size for 2 medium sized chickens or 4 bantams. The coop is the right size for about 4 medium sized, 3 large breed, or 8 bantam. Not every hen sings the egg song. I have 11 hens and a few of them have never done the egg song.

Yep. Completely normal. I even have one hen that does the egg song at random times just for fun, but never when laying an egg. Each one has their own personality. Some are just naturally more quiet and never make a fuss over anything, and some are total drama queens, carrying on and hollering about everything.
