We have a Rhode Island Red Hen that's approximately one and a half years old. She's looked a little droopy the past couple of days but has been basically eating and drinking fine and I didn't see anything obviously wrong. This morning I found her laying on her side under the waterer in the corner. She didn't move even when I picked her up. Mainly she closes her eyes. I noticed she had droppings in her feathers near her vent, so I was cleaning her up and decided to check to see if maybe she was egg bound. I felt something hard and carefully pulled it out. Here is a picture of it. Obviously it's some part of the egg, almost looks like a soft shell around a very hard firm yolk. She didn't seem any better once we got it out, so is there anything I can do for her? Is this a part of a bigger issue?

Can you cut this open? It looks like a lash egg which is the result of salpingitis, an oviduct infection.

It's hard but inside is liquidy like more watery than yolk would be. If it is a lash egg, what can be done for an oviduct infection? I
