Chirping
Hi all, my 1.5 y/o buff orpington hen has started limping these past few days. She is still eating and drinking normally, although I think her egg laying has decreased or stopped. I have attached some pics, but it looks like her left leg is the one bothering her. The past few days she's been able to stand on it, but today she was holding it up more. I felt the area and she didn't seem freaked out by me touching it, so I doubt it's broken, and I checked her for mites and saw no signs of that. She also has no apparent swelling or cuts/external injuries. I did notice some yellow dots around her vent (I attached a photo, you kinda have to zoom in to see it, idk if it's significant at all). Today she also seemed to be losing a ton of feathers, which some of my other hens have been doing recently (prob their first molt) but not as intensely.
Don't know if there's anything we can do about this, we don't live in an area where there are a lot of vets that see poultry unfortunately. I read that crating her for a bit can be an option but I don't want to stress her out by bringing her inside with our dog, and a neighbor has an outdoor cat that might freak her out if we leave her outside in the crate.
If anyone has advice I would really appreciate it, TIA!
