One of my hens has been limping for about a month now. I have looked at its foot and I don't see a cut or any swelling. It looks a little bigger than the other foot but not too much. There is also a dot in the middle of the foot. Any ideas on what it could be?

She could have injured herself somehow without your knowledge. One of my hens has the same affliction. I think she broke her foot and it healed funny--she walks with the toes all pointed down instead of out like a normal foot. Who knows? She could have sprained or pulled something...

It could be bumblefoot. Thats when a sore, cut, puncture, etc on the bottom of a chicken's foot gets infected. There are a lot of threads with pics of bumblefoot. It starts off just looking like a black spot and can progress to a deep infected wound and very swollen foot that requires a little home surgery!
