You might not want to let her perch if she's gonna jump off it and stress her sore leg, even if the perch is low. They will do ok with just extra bedding to sleep in and can lie in it; may even appreciate that, since it's cold. Just remember, it might be a sprain even though you can't find anything. We had a pullet with a sore leg or foot; she was in the pen by herself for six weeks, before it finally healed and she quit limping. Never did determine what it was that made her lame; no swelling,heat, wound, sore place could we find, anywhere. Nothing. Just lame. She made a full recovery with just rest and good food.
