Sorry for your loss. It's terrible when you lose a hen or any pet and I understand your pain. Would you mind telling if you bought these from a hatchery or a breeder?

I bought my Ameracaunas from a respected breeder near me last year at 6 weeks old. There were some hiccups in the beginning, they all came with lice, two of them turned out to be EE's(she had a couple of EE hens mixed in with her true Ameracauna's.) Patience came with an eye infection and both her and one of her brothers came with coccidiosis. (It may sound bad, but I know that this can happen no matter what) and the breeder felt bad enough over my misfortune that she gave me two day old bantam RIR's as a consolation(one turned out to be a roo, re-homed him). I will probably go through her again when I'm ready to get more birds.( I'll just pick them up from her farm this time so I can pick them out myself)Sorry for your loss.
