One hen has started losing neck feathers under her beak. It's slowly expanding down her breast. Took her to vet but wasn't sure what it was so gave an ointment that would cover bacterial and fungal infection. Only been about 2 days but she's still losing. No sign of broken skin, no rash. She's eating and drinking and all plumbing is working. She doesn't seem to have mites. Have separated her from the rest. Any ideas?????

Hi @Terry Cazer :frow Welcome To BYC

Can you post some photos - those will be helpful:)

Without seeing it - I would have to guess along with the others and say it sounds like she is molting - chickens molt annually beginning around the age of 16-18months, hen either slow down or stop laying eggs altogether. If she is molting, you should start seeing new growth/pin feathers coming back in to replace the ones that she has lost.
Molting chickens can benefit from an increase of protein in their diet and some poultry vitamins a couple of times a week.
Keep us posted.
