Hen Losing Weight

Fingers crossed!

So yay! I got some baytril to try. Since I stopped mid course on the last stuff he's going to try baytril. The other stuff can upset her, so I'm glad I stopped it. Recheck CBC in 1week. He said if it was Mereks she would have been dead by now. Since it's been a month post onset. I asked him why is she like this and he said it could had been something she ate, which caused her crop to have problems. So dear her crop is still working.

Ohhhh and I finally got droncit for my ther chicken!! Bye bye tapeworms!

Hopefully now your hen will have a big turn around :)

We're getting little poops still but they're more often! Just put another 60 ml of water in her about an hour ago and shortly we'll be putting in some food. She's still perky just not ready to drink on her own. As far as I see she's not exactly suffering. She's ailing, but I think she's doing much better since Friday and I'll take it. The vet mentioned a genetic defect, but I'm not sure what defect would cause a hen to just stop eating and drinking. Bit then again the whole situation is puzzling. Tomorrow worries me. I have to travel for work so I won't be home mu normal time. Hope she can wait an extra hour or two. Maybe I'll get lucky...She'll think I gave up and just do it herself haha

I wonder what genetic defect causes hens to stop eating/drinking. I wonder if an appetite stimulant would be beneficial. I think our chickens are one of the same. This constant struggle to get them to eat and drink. My vet said I should figure out a way to ground up the layer pellets. oookkkkkkkkk, lol. I will figure something out. Today was my first day back at work in over a week and a half, so I was concerned. Mine wars she just doesn't like water!! That's the most important thing too.

That's us haha she'll attempt food but no water. I keep changing it and I've tried room temp, warm, throw in some worms, she's just not interested. Last week Thursday was the last time I've seen her drink. Maybe we should play a soundtrack with running water all day haha

Tubes and syringes - One can use crumbles mixed in water with a 30 and a catheter tip syringe. This is a copy and paste from a post I did:

Rubber catheter type feeding tubes come in "French" sizes from 3-34. The smaller the number, the smaller the tube. The smallest one I use is an 8 and I use that on all baby chicks. I think metal crop tubes are sized in gauges, so for those the smaller the number, the larger the tube. The sizes I use most are 8, 10, 16,18 and 30.
Here is the size 8
