Hen makes an odd action

Whenever I am able to walk up to my hen, she always stops moving and puts herself in an odd position in which she stands with a more upright posture and has the joints of her wings pronounced. She did this before she first became broody as well, but she has not been laying any eggs since then. Is this behaviour normal? Thanks in advance for any help.

My guess is that she is "squatting", like she would do for a rooster. Hens often do that when laying, or when they are getting close to beginning to lay again.

Thank you for your help. My hen finally started laying again today, which explains why she has started doing it again.
