hen making noise

My hen is making to much noise when i touch her why?And what type of nesting material i use?Can i use sand i the cage of my 4 hens? my hen also growing new feathers.

so it all depends on the hen. I have one hen making noise when I touch her because se complains about me touching her. I have another one that actually likes to be scratched so she complains when I do not do it enough! it all depends on your hens personality. you can use sand in coup, it is actually quite easy but not in nest area. you will need something like straw or showings in there
