Hello everyone, my name is Eva and I have 17 Americanas. Someone dropped a rooster off at my house because it is cold, really cold (I live in the Southern tier of New York) I tried to find him a home and no one wanted him. So having a kind heart that I have I took him in.
My one Americana keeps on having blood on her eggs. There is plenty of water in their Coop. Is there anything else I could do to prevent her from getting egg bound?

Hello Eva, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.

Blood on the eggs is usually the result of new layers or newly started back up hens rupturing a blood vessel. It typically resolves after the first few eggs. Can you post pictures of the blood on the egg?
Do you know which girl it is? Is she otherwise acting normally.

The rooster has nothing to do with this.

So do I.

Hiya, Eva, and welcome to BYC! :frow

We will see blood on eggs their first few, and sometimes as a fluke, even an old layer will have a streak of blood on it. It's typically just a normal thing that doesn't stick around long.

We're glad you're here!
