I have a 15 month old BLRW hen that appears to be morphing into a rooster. She has always had a bigger comb and wattles but now is becoming more vocal and makes rooster noises and is tryingto crow. I don't know if she lays eggs or not, but I haven't seen her on the nestboxes. She also has small spurs.
Do you think she is sterile? I need to get rid of the hens and roosters that are just eating food.I've been calling her Hermie.

Hens can sometimes crow, though it's pretty rare. But they don't morph into roosters. Spurs don't mean anything either, I have some hens with spurs. Do you have a picture of the bird?

I can take one, for about 3 months she has been making rooster noises. The raaawr sound when I touch her when they are roosting, the clucking sounds roosters make at food and other rooster sounds. She is most definitely weird, I call her Hermie. Her wattles and comb are large but her body and feathers are very hen like.

That rawwr noise is just a sound of annoyance. She doesn't want you messing with her while she's trying to rest.
When there is no roostee, it's common that a hen will take over as leader. There is always a need for someone to be "in charge" - looking out for danger, where the food is, etc

Post a picture but none of her behavior points to rooster. Now that I dont have a roo, my eldest RIR hen is now mounting the younger pulleys.
