This isn't very urgent, I'm just a little confused... So, I have 2 hens sitting on eggs. They are in makeshift nesting boxes inside of a little cage on our back porch. The boxes are spaced about a foot and a half apart. They are each sitting on 1 egg. Yesterday, I took the hens out, and when I put them back, they were in separate nests. This morning when I went to take them out to eat and drink, I found them both in the same nest with both eggs. I figured somebody else I the house must have moved them. So, I asked, and nobody had. So, a hen must have moved her egg, dragging it along with her beak, into a new nest. I have no idea why (It would have taken a long time!) or how she did that. That's all, it's nothing urgent, just very strange.
