Hen noise

Establishing a pecking order is normal... unless they are trying to kill, let them work it out. And hens don’t crow... maybe you have a rooster? Certain hens will make a lot of noise (depending on breed) and that’s normal too. I wouldn’t worry - but it does sound like you have a rooster in your mist unless you’re just getting normal hen chatter confused with crowing.

But crowing, that's specific to roosters.

Ummmm, no, it's not. It is rare for a hen to crow, but I've got one I've heard crow twice. She didn't crow as well as a rooster can, but she definitely crowed. There is also a video on here somewhere of a hen crowing repeatedly. In any case, my guess is the OP has a rooster.

Oh, haha - wow! Ten years in, and I have yet to have one of my hens crow, lol. But, power to those crowin' hens - you go girls! :woot
