I have a hen that is now a year old. She’s always had trouble with one leg even as a
. She was being picked at so I removed her from the other hens immediately. She’s been separated from them since. She has a great appetite and eats and drink very well. I took her to the vet about 6 months ago and never got any advice other than to put her down because she likely has Mareks. We started meloxidyl once daily. It seemed to help. Fast forward to now and she’s still thin, never laid an egg, comb is dry and beak is brittle. However, this hen absolutely will not give up. Still eating, drinking and jumps up for treats. The leg is now completely useless and slightly swollen. She uses her wings to hold onto cage and get around. She seems to like to sit in a bowl of water so we’ve allowed her to sit in a tub of warm water and she loves it. I’m offering increased protein, worms, flies, grass, spinach And lettuce. She also enjoys corn. Any advice?
