Hen not laying yet!

I have a red sex link hen that is approximately 21 plus weeks old ( when you approach her she will squat down with wings out like she is accepting a rooster for 3 weeks now) but she has not started to lay, her coop mate is a week or two older and has been laying for two weeks already. there are not any outward signs of any problems, and she doesn't show any symptoms of what i have read about of being egg bound. any Ideas?

Give her time. Not every hen matures at the same time. Hens can squat up to 4-6 weeks before that first egg.

I would put a ceramic egg in nesting box and give her time. she might not be comfortable or she could be shy, lot's o reasons.

I already put a couple of fake eggs in, as her coop mate was laying in the middle of the coop bedding, so i put a couple of fake ones to get her to use the nest box (which she did!) Thanks for the advice.
