I am really surprised at the low protein with it being called a "gamebird" feed.
Most gamebirds feeds have around 30% protein, have a bit lower fat and a few added nutrients.

***This is only my opinion***To be honest if you only have layers at the moment, I would gradually start changing them over to either a layer feed(16% protein + vitamins/minerals) or an all flock type of crumble(20% protein + vitamins/minerals) . With oyster shells free choice. The gamebird feed you are using reads to me more like something I would use as a scratch or a treat instead of a main food source. I personally use Purina Flock Raiser, because I have a mixed flock and I like to give extra goodies, so the higher protein is what I choose for me.

That said I am wondering since your Red Ranger is designed as a meat bird, if she isn't lacking in protein and that may be contributing to her having problems. I know she is finding some protein sources foraging, but if you only feed once a day and let them forage, having the extra (higher) protein in the am will be balanced out by afternoon due to foraging, kitchen scraps, etc.

For example Purina game bird is
Crude Protein, % (min) 30
Crude Fat, % (min) 2.5
Crude Fiber, % (max) 6.5
Lysine, % (min) 1.5
Calcium, % (Ca) (min) 1.00
Calcium, % (Ca) (max) 1.50
Phosphorus, % (P) (min) 0.80
Salt, % (Na Cl) (min) 0.25
Salt, % (Na Cl) (max) 0.75
Methionine, % (min) 0.5

I'm wondering of that's meant to be a wild bird seed?

Layer feed is usually about 16% protein...minimal for protein when used and only food source.

That is what I was wondering as well. I can't find info on the Ags Game Bird Seed, google keeps giving me TCM game bird conditioner http://www.seedfactory.com/Game-Bird-Blends/game-bird-blends-TMC-mix.html there is a 28%protein pellet in this one, but then the analysis comes out to 13.50% (I am assuming because of the corn, oats, etc). I see that @butterfliesdoku has listed "pellet" in hers as well, but with what I call "extras" the protein level would be decreased. And if hers are like mine, they would pick out the corn, oats, BOSS first and probably leave the pellets for last or not eat them at all.

Now @butterfliesdoku I am not saying it is a no no to give your girls any of the ingredients that are in the Ags Game Bird Blendz. I do give my a little cracked corn, oatmeal, sunflower seeds, fruits, veggies, etc. I don't free range, so mine are pretty much on poultry feed with the extras added in.

Thank you both! I will be looking into a higher percentage of protein for my flock. I'll probably go for the flock raiser that was mentioned.
