I have 7 hens, 4 Rhode Island red, 2 orchid orpington abd a silver lace wyandot. They are all between 5&7 months old. One RIR was laying but has stopped. Nine of the others have layed. Any ideas why?

If you live in the Northern hemisphere the shorter days may be to blame. Most hens slow down and or stop laying when the day length drops below 14 hours. For other possible causes see here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/why-are-my-hens-not-laying

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Sumi has left you with a great link to follow. There are lots of reasons why chickens stop laying but this time of year with the cold and daylight hours dwindling, many chickens will slow down on the laying or stop all together. Definitely read through that thread or even do some posting in it.

Enjoy your flock and welcome to ours!
