last month, my hen started having these tiny white wet poops with very little solids. she was pretty lethargic during this time but she was alert and getting around.
i started treating her for a possible impacted crop, and when she didn’t improve i started her on a dewormer (safeguard). about a week later, her poops returned to normal, her comb perked back up, and she was back to normal energy-wise for about a few weeks.
i don’t know if the dewormer happened to just coincide with her crop clearing or if it’s a different problem entirely, because she started having the same problem again a few days ago and now she’s worse than ever. she passed a weird shell-less egg with no yolk around the size and shape of a peanut the day after it began. now this evening, there’s black specks in her stool and the fluid is tinted red.
she’s still alert but very unwell and i don’t have a lot of hope for her. what’s gone wrong? is it odd that she seemingly fully recovered only for the problem to return?
