Hen not roosting, getting pooped on

My mixed flock of 12 are 9 weeks old. Eleven of them roost very close together on about 2/3 of the length of the roost. The roost is a 2x4 with the 4 side up. The other (Cuckoo Maran) sleeps under them on the poop board which is about 9 inches below the roost. Is this part of the pecking order thing or do you suppose she just prefers the wider surface under the others?

I have no idea. My five Stupid Birds are 3 months old and still all squeeze into the space above the nest boxes instead of the nice, long roost pole. It could be because they have brains the size of my fingernail.
