Hen or Roo? 9 week old Barred rock

To check for roo, just look at the saddle feathers. If they are long and pointy, it's a roo, if rounded and petal-like, it's a hen!

This^ In addition to the universal gender signs, Barred Rocks males have about twice as much white barring as females and end up lighter.

Only 10 weeks? I figured pullet because of the darker plumage, but those wattles and comb are very red for that age.

I'm going pullet.
Saddle feathers don't show up until 12 weeks at the earliest.
The girls are darker than the boys... here's my BR at the same age.
I think you have red faces because they were upset.
