Hen or Roo? - Light Brahma

So, we got two brahmas at the beginning of the season...a light and a buff. They're beautiful. We named them Thelma & Louise. Unfortunately, the more we see, the more we think Thelma might be a roo. He/She makes this weird sound...not quite a cluck, not quite a crow. Any help would be greatly appreciated....
