Hen or Roo RI Red?

Purchased pullets but this one has larger comb, started sprouting black tail feathers, and cape seems a bit pointy. Saddle feathers seem the same as others right now.

Hmmmm.
I havnt had RIRs in years but i would expect more development by 12 weeks as a cockerel.

Hoping someone else will know for sure.

I think your almost to the point of crowing, or laying an egg. So while I'd say Pullet, your best bet is to wait a while

This is what we will prob do anyway. We just aren’t allowed roosters so I’ll have to figure out what to do after.

Definitely a cockerel. A RIR is not even close to the point of laying at 12 weeks.
