Hi everyone,

Please let me know if this is not OK to post here. I wanted to show an example of the visual difference between hens and roos. These birds are 3 months old and the same breed in these pictures. Notice how the roo (top) has a more pronounced comb and waddles. This will be the case in most breeds, I believe. Most breeds will have differences in feathers also. Notice the thin, pointy feathers on the standing rooster's neck and tail. This is not hen feathering.

I hope this helps someone 🙂

Beautiful birds! Sebrights can be a challenge thanks to the hen feathering on males, but the comb and wattles give them away as they get older. I've got a pullet, and she's great.

I'm sure these will help many, including me. I'm new to chickens and still learning. All my babies (I've currently got 15) are bantams. I'm getting 6 more chicks in a couple of weeks, Orpingtons and whatever surprises Meyer sends me. So I am soaking up any and all information. Thank you!
