Hen or Roo?

We thought this was a hen but caught her crowing this morning.

She was a part of a heavy assorted straight run, with one other that looked exactly like her until about 8 weeks old. We figured the other was a roo (he definitely is) and she grew consistantly a little smaller and her coloring matches the hen version of the breed.. but shes crowing?? I know that hens will crow if they dont have a rooster, but out of 11 we have 4 roosters, so I dont think that’s it. Do some hens just act more aggressive and crow even though they are hens? Or do we need to change “her” name?

With those pointy saddle feathers and crowing I’d say that’s a roo. He’s very handsome too!

i dont want anymore roos lol. He’ll have to go, he keeps attacking our dog

100% male. See the long pointy feathers in front of the tail and on the neck area? Those are rooster specific feathers. The cascading tail feathers are also rooster specific, as hens have shorter feathers that are rounded off on the ends. Very red comb and upright stance also scream male.

Any ideas on what breed he may be? Came in the Heavy Assorted Breed from Ideal.
