I’m still a little unsure when it comes to my silkie and my possible sussex

I couldn’t tell for sure. It’s hard getting a good picture, but I noticed that the silkies crown has a tiny bulge and the crest feathers do look a tiny bit spiky

I think silkie is a cockerel from his comb. Sussex is sure pullet
It is hard to get a good picture, but I think I see what you mean

Is your "Sussex" a bantam? If so she's a silver duckwing old English game. If she's a large fowl chick then she could be a silver Phoenix or silver Leghorn. Definitely is a she, the males of any of those breeds look much different.

It's too early on the silkie to be sure of gender.
