we got 2 roosters out of 5 chicks, and we got rid of them . we decided to get 2 more 8-9 week olds, but we don't know the specific age. the black australorp looks a lot younger than the buff orpington. the breeder we got it from says theyre all hens, but just making sure. thanks in advance!

They both look like girls. The black one looks sick. It could be coccidiosis. Is she active and eating/drinking?

thanks!! they both look fine, eating and drinking. very very active running and jumping around a lot.i think the picture did her dirty attached are more pics of her.

Two girls. Agreed that the BA has the classic "sick chicken" posture. Keep these two quarantined away from your others and watch her. She's definitely not feeling well.

I would just pay close attention to her food and water intake, her crop (check every morning before food to make sure it is empty), and her poop. You can't treat something you can't see. If there are no obvious symptoms, just keep an eye on her.

her crop is really squishy and she just ate a lot of feed. both chicks crops feel squishy but they're both eating a lot. they're also pretty big

That's why you check in the morning before feed and go by that only. Pick up the feed and water after they go to sleep for the night. Check her crop first thing in the morning before you set it back down. Should be empty.
