Ya, it’s hard to get good pictures too when they’re moving around so much haha. It’s behind the buff silkieI say hen for now, but those tail feathers look a bit rooster ish

I’ve sexed all my birds accurately by tail feathers, but whatever you say. I’ve never had a wrong guess. It’s pretty easy to tell by tail at this age actuallyNothing to say "Cockerel" at this point, but it's early yet.
Tail feathers are meaningless at this age.
Sex-specific hackle and saddle feathers come in around 12 weeks.

Whatever you say sassy pants. It’s not a court case it’s a birds gender. I’m not going to say “it’s a hen 100%” because we in all reality are just guessing. I said I thought the bird was a hen, but the tail looks roosterish. It can change to look more hen or rooster like. I think the bird is a hen. But if the tail continues to get more roosterish it’s a good chance it’s a roo. So take your “buuuuuuuuuuut” and have a good dayBuuuuuuuuuuut
you say this:
"I say hen for now, but those tail feathers look a bit rooster ish"
Could be that it is not so easy at that age to tell if it is a cockerel or pullet by tail feathers![]()
