These are supposed to be black sex-link pullets, approximately 4 weeks old. the first two pictures are of the one in question, the other is of the other one we have for comparison. I have 2 other 2 year old black sex-link hens and I don’t remember their combs ever being this red at this age.

He does look like a cockerel. Black sex links as supposed to be sexed at birth. Did he have a little white dot on his head when he was younger? I believe the males will be barred.
So when we got them, they were if I had to guess about 2 weeks old, they were starting to get feathers, but neither one of them had a white spot on their heads. Which is why I was confused as to why this one looks suspicious lol. Maybe they aren’t actually black sex links? 🤷‍♀️

I see. It's possible they're a different breed. I'm not super familiar with sex links but I'm sure someone else on here can confirm. Where did you get them?

That’s quite strange. I’m not sure what hatchery mix he is but he’s not barred and definitely a male so not a Black Sexlink. I’m grasping at straws but maybe an Egger??
