How old is it?

very hard to say with out a close up of the beak & comb. But from way back it looks like a hen. Does it drink beer with its buddys & watch nascar all weekend? Then you would know for sure!

almost 8 months old

for sure at 8 months she is a hen. A rooster will have a large red brain looking comb on his head.

My silkies (just sold last week) were 13 months & had never laid an egg. I'm not sure what was up with that - so it was time to go.
