Hi all,
Trying to figure out if this little one is a hen or a roo. 8 week old Buff Orpington. No crowing yet. New to chickens. I have absolutely no idea! This is "Lucille Ball" (name may change after this post) "She" is the one in the middle...Hope the images come through!

Looks like you need to use the "sport setting" on the camera! I found that the pictures aren't as high quality but it almost completely eliminates the blur. On my Canon point-and-shoot it's called "ISO 3200".

As for hen or roo, it doesn't scream roo to me but I'm not familiar with orps (and tend to not notice the differences until the roos have ALL of their feathers). You'll want to keep an eye out for pointy feathers coming in at the base of the tail and base of the neck around 12-14 weeks.

Thanks BlazeJester, yes these pictures were taken with an iPhone...so not as clear as I had hoped. But, your information is a start!

Yea! Fingers crossed! Thank you! Maye I will try to get better pictures. I thought everyone would want to see rear for some reason!

Here ia a pic of my three lav orps who are the same age. There is also a Splash Marans Roo and a BCM in the photo but you can see the difference in the pullets and roo
