Hi there,
So I am new to raising chickens; I have a flock of 7, supposedly all hens. The one in question was given to me as a chick, and the owner did not know the breed. On top of that, she/he turned out to be a frizzle. 4 months old and definitely top of the pecking order. Started crowing 2 days ago, and of course I was shocked, thinking that I had all hens. Did some research and read that the dominant hen can sometimes crow; at this point, I'm very confused. If hens can crow, then I can't determine its a rooster simply by the crowing. Hoping some of you chicken veterans can help me out here. Hen or Roo? and Breed if possible. Thank y'all so much.
