Hen or Roo's Please help (5 chickens)

You can order sexed chicks through any of the hatcheries. They probably don't have a huge selection this time of year. You can also see if there are any poultry shows near you as exhibitors often have birds for sale. Then you could find some of a similar age. You wouldn't have to wait for them to grow up. Too bad you're a little far from me, I have some extra 3-5 month old Faverolles pullets.

Those are absolutely roosters, no fence sitting on any of them, sorry.

Your little girl will be fine by herself for a while. She'll be a little lonely, but it sounds like your kids will be more than willing to spend time with her!

My pet chicken sells small lots of birds. They charge a fair amount for shipping, but if you don't need 25 chicks, it's a good way to go. All hatcheries sex chicks--some only sex specific breeds. They'll tell you when you're ordering if your breeds are sexed or not. Straight run means unsexed, usually half males. Even when they sex chicks, it's only a 90-95% guarantee. You might also check craigslist, maybe post a wanted ad for a started or grown hen. If you're unsure of gender, post pics here before you buy it to be sure it's a hen.

brought my roosters to a sanctuary today and they said that the last pic of my chickens may be a hen. Is that possible? I don't know anything about chickens, but that's the only one I thought for sure was a rooster.
