I'd guess a cockerel looking at the amount of pink already in the comb and wattle. I hope if it is a boy your able to keep him where you live! Also I think it's wonderful you giving a home to an animal in a shelter!

Agreed! Rescue animals are the best. The ones we've had always seem like they are aware of how bad things could have been and very grateful for being adopted. Especially the cats!
