Hello everyone! I'm new to raising chickens, I have RIR'S and I'm wondering how to figure out if I have all hens. My chickens are 6 months old and only one is laying as of right now.

By 6 months, any cockerels should be crowing and exhibiting pointy hackle and saddle feathers. Pullets will have more rounded hackle and sickle feathers.

One of my chickens is making a whoing sound, is this normal for RIR s ?

Not sure that any sort of "whoing" sound is normal for any breed. Are there any other things that stand out about the bird?

No, she just started this last night, I'm keeping a special eye on her, the vet is on speed dial. I have never heard this sound from any of my babies, so any help is greatly appreciated

One of my girls is acting odd. She's not being social with the others, she's trying to "talk" but she's being EXTREME soft spoken, not eating or drinking much and seems to have lost some weight. I'm taking her to the vet Wednesday, but I'm worried something is going to happen to her. PLEASE HELP
