Hen or Rooster?

Hi all!

I just can't tell what my light sussex chicken is! Hen or Rooster? Can anyone help?

Have you tried checking if it is growing any spurs yet? Or a lump on the inside of it's legs?

The tail looks like cockerel, as well as the neck feathers.

I think the tail is too low for a roosters tail but I might be wrong.

I think you mean spurs, not talons...both genders will have spur 'bumps'.

How old is he/she?
I think cockerel but that's only a hunch, based on the stance of the bird in the photo - his attitude just says "rooster" to me - and the neck feathers and feathers on the back/rump area just above the tail.
