Hen or Rooster??

I know this might sound a little weird, but i've seen this done before, and it worked. If i introduce them while their young can i get a bunny for the chicken? I know, I know it sounds weird, but the place when I got my chicken won't let me get more than 4 chickens at least. If I got a baby bunny and they were raised together would that work?
If it's your only option, then I guess it would be better than nothing. But chickens are very social and prefer to have at least one other chicken around.

A rabbit would not provide the social interaction that a chicken would.

My rabbits only come around the chickens for the pellets. They move around each other but I wouldn't say they are friends. But they have others of their own kind so maybe one single hen and one single rabbit, if lonely, might hang out together?

I would check around at local feed stores. Some order a bunch of chicks expecting people to buy them, but end up w/ older chicks that no one has bought. Also, look at the message board for your state on here. You might find someone who has older chicks. Another option is that TSC has been having 'swaps' lately, so you might find one happening soon in your area. And finally, another option would be to get a younger chick and put it in a separate, but visible space so they can see each other, but not be together until the little one is big enough.
