This is my 7 week old Barred Rock. It's probably too soon to tell for sure..... But s/he is looking Roostery to me. It was sold to me as a hen.

She will be laying eggs for you in the fall! Dark barring instead of wider white bars, dark wash down the front of her legs. I have her "twin," just about the same age, and mine has just about as much comb, slightly pink, as yours does.

I'm saying that my BR is going to lay the first egg of the 7 assorted chicks I got this year.
