My chicks are 5 weeks old and I’m worried about 3 of them possibly not being hens. Also, I have a Barred Rock that isn’t getting their plums as fast as the others and wasn’t sure why. I will post pictures of my 8 chicks. The first 3 are Ameruacanas and I’m worried about the first 2 not being hens. The next 3 are the Barred Rocks and the last 2 are Buckeyes and I’m a little concerned about the first one may not be a hen. I know it might be to early to tell for certain but I thought I would give it a shot and also want to make sure my one chick is ok. Thanks in advance!

Oh yay! They were sold as Ameraucanas so I’m glad I know they are not and thrilled they are hens.
It’s very common for Easter Eggers to be sold as Ameraucanas. 95% of the time if you buy Ameraucanas from feed stores they will be Easter Eggers.

The first five pictures are Easter Eggers, not Ameraucanas, and are all female.
Just curious because I have four week old EEs that were sold to me as pullets but you know how well that can turn out. How can you tell they’re female? (Sorry op for going off topic but I’m genuinely curious for my own flock)

I am as well! I’m such a newby and this is my first flock.

They have female specific feathering. 😁
