Hen or Rooster?

I have a 22 week old Welsummer who I believe is a pullet but has not started laying, and squaks loudly.

That stumped me too. I should be expecting red terracotta colored eggs, but I'm getting none! I was worried because she squawks so loud, I was worried it could even be considered crowing. I have started using a spray bottle to spray water at her when she is being tremendously loud. If there are any other techniques to hush up a chicken that would be helpful (if neighbors complain they may make me get rid of my chickens)

She might not lay dark eggs, it happens with hatchery birds. She could be vocal because she's about to lay. I used a spray bottle too firms 'midwife' Chicken, she would hoot and holler if anyone laid an egg.
