Hen or Rooster?

I thought splash was the white or light gray with black or blue spotting or mottling. The result of the BBS genetics when you breed a blue to blue. Am I incorrect on that?
Splash is some shade of pale blue, often with splashes of darker blue.

Lavender is a much more even color.

Blue is usually darker, with lacing.

It's a fine line, though, between blue and blue splash, sometimes.

Sometimes splashes have splashes of color, other times they are a fairly even very light shade of blue. And yes, they are homozygous for the blue gene while blues are heterozygous.

Thank you for the clarification! I'm still learning all this.

Thank you so much for this information. It's a lot to know!

Yellow skin, single comb and yellow legs definitely point to cochin. Probably splash. Blue is a highly variable color, splash even more so. I've seen pictures of splash birds that were so pale they looked like they were nearly white with the tiniest specks of blue to medium Grey with spots of darker blue.
