Hen or tom

Does this look more like a hen or a tom? It was born may 24 so it's like 5ish months old. It was middle of the pack size wise before a fox got the others.

Check the lower breast feathers. If they're all cream, to white tipped it's female. If the lower breast feathers are mostly black tipped then it's male.

We have ourselves a Bourbon Red Jake.

That's what I've been thinking, but no attempts at puffing up or gobbling.

Females will strut too, but not gobble.

She looks alittle older then my Bourbon Red Jake, & her snood is smaller. Mine's only 3 months.

I can get pictures after dinner.

There's different breeds of Turkey. The bird in question is a Bourbon Red.

Thank you it's fascinating, I know nothing about turkeys. I never considered there would be breed like chickens!
