One of my hens went broody so wanted to let her hatch some chicks. I set some eggs in the incubator and gave her 3 to hatch herself a day later since broodies hatch sooner. They were all going to be hers just didn't trust other hens not to break some eggs which is why I set the incubator. Well its day 20 for incubator which is day 19 for her. She has hatched all her eggs and I don't even have a pip on any incubator eggs. Thankfully another hen is now broody so it still works out. Do any of you try to time a broody hatch with an incubator hatch? Think I should have tried a longer head start?

What breed hen?? Good story!

Isn’t nature amazing?!? We try and try as hard as we can, but we are no match for Mother Nature.

Congrats on your new chicks and new chicks-to-be.
