Hen pecking new chicks! Advice???

I have a broody sitting on nothing and a broody sitting on 4 duds. I tried to slip newborn chicks under them but they both started pecking the chicks

Is this normal? I took the chicks away and put them back in the brooder. What should I do? The one on the duds already kicked 3 out this morning. Any advice is welcomed

you should try doing it at night so that she is sleeping when you put them in
