Hen pecking, not breaking through, eggs

My Rhode Island red has been adamantly laying eggs away from all the other hens, in secret spots. She is also now pecking a small break at the very top of each egg. The pointy end. Not enough to break through the membrane, just enough to create one cocentric crack about 2mm in diameter. Maybe 3. She isn't staying on the eggs and doesn't fight me when I get them.

Any thoughts?

add more protein she is trying to eat the egg, and add more oyster shell or make it free choice however you give it to your girls the calcium will help make harder shells so she can't break a hole through.
